The BEPPS2 programme delivers additional storage infrastructure to support the safe management of intermediate level waste arising from ongoing retrieval and remediation activities at Sellafield.

Works are progressing in an active nuclear environment,

with early construction advancing alongside business case development and integration into a wider programme of hazard reduction.

Element #1:

Early Construction & Site Establishment

Initial construction activities are underway, including earthworks, site preparation and enabling works to support the main facility build.

Element #2:

Waste Storage Facility Delivery

Construction of a new storage facility integrated with existing encapsulation infrastructure to receive and manage packaged intermediate level waste.

Element #3:

Programme Integration & Operational Readiness

Development of the full business case and alignment with wider programme delivery to enable transition into an operational storage asset.

These elements will progress early works through to an integrated storage facility, supporting long-term hazard reduction across the Sellafield site.

Civex personnel supported the project’s commercial function, contributing to cost management, commercial controls and the effective administration of project processes during delivery.

The facility increases safe storage capacity for intermediate level waste, supporting the long-term reduction of hazard and enabling continued progress of remediation activities across the Sellafield site.

Delivering in complex environments is what we do.

If your programme faces similar challenges, let’s talk.
